"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit
the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty."

Over the last few weeks, two sisters (from a group of three) have been tending monarch caterpillars from their homes in northern Michigan. Just last week, they watched as the former caterpillars emerged from their chrysalides - completely new creatures, ready to soar.
One of the sisters requested this drawing after the butterflies flew away; a celebration of that change, as well as the sisterhoods that endure through every change of our own.
