In keeping with my current series of paintings from the natural world, I decided on this image of humpback whales as a nursery gift for a soon-to-be mom.
Really, Brian Skerry couldn't have said it better - The limitless depths of the ocean truly do recall outer space. I was utterly fascinated during my research, especially by those old soul eyes that all whales seem to have from birth. What beautifully intriguing creatures.
