This was technically a small study for a larger painting (Grief and Love: ສອງຊ້າງ/Two Elephants), but I had such a wonderful time picking out roses at my local produce market and painting them in the studio! And roses, of course, always put me in mind of the most bittersweet quotes from Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. (Incidentally, I also have a quote from that book tattooed on my foot.)
